The Montowese House – A Tribute by Nancy Noble Coykendall

The Montowese House, known as the Queen of the Sound,
was the largest hotel on the Connecticut shoreline. Three
generations of the William Bryan ran the hotel from 1866
until 1963. It had 142 rooms and was known for its fine
dining. Other amenities were tennis courts, horse back
riding, dancing, beautiful views and water activities.
