Historic House Plaques and Research Service
The Branford Historical Society offers house plaques to identify historic structures and landmarks in Branford. Properties are acknowledged by date of construction and by original or historically recognized owner. Buildings 60 years or older are eligible for a plaque.
The wooden plaques are 11-1/4 x 17 11 x 16 inches, painted white, with black lettering and a border. Stainless steel screws are included.
While we maintain extensive inventories of historic data, research is still needed to identify the date of construction and ownership of your house. This is required for all new plaques to verify accuracy, and is provided for an additional fee of $50.00 above the cost of the plaque itself. The total cost for a plaque & research service is $300.00. If you already have a historically-verified house plaque, and just need a replacement, the cost for a replacement plaque is $250.00.
Fill out the Online Order Form below, and click Submit. Then you will be redirected to the Product Page where you can “Add to Cart” the “Plaque & Research Service” or “Replacement Plaque”, and continue through the Checkout process.
Plaques are available to order each year from January – September.
Historic House Plaque orders are suspended for the 2024 season. We hope to allow ordering again on January 1st, 2025.
