Historic House Plaques and Research Service

For over 50 years, The Branford Historical Society has offered house plaques to identify historic structures and landmarks in Branford. Properties are acknowledged by date of construction and by original or historically recognized owner. Buildings 60 years or older are eligible for a plaque.
The wooden plaques are 11 x 16 inches, hand-painted white, with hand-drawn black lettering and a border. Stainless steel screws and care instructions are included.
While we maintain extensive inventories of historic data, research is still needed to identify the date of construction and ownership of your house. This is required for all new plaques to verify accuracy, and is provided for an additional fee of $50.00 above the cost of the plaque itself. The total cost for a plaque & research service is $350.00. If you already have a historically-verified house plaque, and just need a replacement, the cost for a replacement plaque is $300.00.

Plaques are available to order each year from January – September.
